About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audit Quality Manager to join our Financial Reporting Advisory Team in the Audit Quality Directorate (AQD). As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping the role and expanding the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with Senior Managers, Managers, Directors, and Partners within both AQD, the audit stream, and across the wider firm to deliver high-quality audits.
  • Provide support and supervision to junior team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  • Technical review of a personal portfolio of annual reports of publicly traded and other higher-risk companies, working with the audit team to confirm compliance with financial reporting standards, company legislation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide clear and practical solutions to technical financial reporting queries, acting as a consultant for junior members of the team.
  • Prepare and present financial reporting training, updates, and seminars both internally and externally.
  • Help develop financial reporting tools and guidance for application by the firm's partners and staff.
  • Write articles and other publications on financial and corporate reporting matters for internal and external communications.
  • Assist with the preparation of draft responses to external consultations in relation to legal, regulatory, and financial reporting matters.
  • Monitor external developments in corporate reporting areas, reporting back to the team and developing an appropriate action plan where required.
  • Support and coach junior members of the FRA team.
Requirements
  • ACA/ICAS qualified or overseas equivalent.
  • Manager in a technical team or have other relevant experience in technical financial reporting.
  • Specific skills in/experience of insurance or asset management would be an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of the content requirements for the annual report of a company listed on either the Main Market or the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange.
  • Knowledge of the wider financial reporting environment, including future developments in law, regulation, and emerging areas.
  • Proven ability to apply technical knowledge to complex financial reporting issues and provide practical and supportable solutions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with an ability to create productive relationships across the firm and network, and to influence other senior professionals.
