Join Our Team as a Financial Reporting Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Advisor to join our team at BDO UK. As a key member of our Financial Reporting Advisory Team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our audit quality and financial reporting services.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, with experience in technical reviews of annual reports of listed companies. You will be responsible for providing technical support and advice to our audit teams, as well as contributing to the development of financial reporting tools and guidance for our partners and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and advice to audit teams on financial reporting matters
  • Contribute to the development of financial reporting tools and guidance for partners and staff
  • Assist in the preparation of draft responses to external consultations on financial reporting matters
  • Monitor external developments in corporate reporting areas and report back to the team
  • Support and coach junior members of the team

Requirements

  • ACA/ICAS qualified or overseas equivalent
  • Manager in a technical team or relevant experience in technical financial reporting
  • Specific skills in/experience of insurance or asset management an advantage
  • Practical experience of performing technical reviews of annual reports of listed companies
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRSs, UK GAAP, and the UK Companies Act
  • Ability to apply technical knowledge to complex financial reporting issues and provide practical solutions
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
