Rail Fuel Point Specialist

Railway industry experts at Shorterm Group are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assistant to work on a busy fuel point in the Midlands. As a key member of our team, you will ensure safe and efficient operations by monitoring fuel spills, measuring sand dispense quantities, and reporting any visual abnormalities with the Sanding System Equipment.
This role involves working from written instructions, carrying out routine fleet checks, and supporting the Fuel Point Team with 5S tasks. If you have experience in heavy mechanical engineering or plant maintenance, this could be an ideal opportunity for you to join our dynamic team and contribute to our success.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a lookout for fuel spills on the fuel point and report accordingly.
- Measure sand dispense quantities according to Fleet Check Instructions.
- Report any visual abnormalities with the Sanding System Equipment.
- Work from written instructions (VMI).
- Carry out routine fleet checks to ensure safe operation.
- Support the Fuel Point Team with 5S tasks.
Requirements
