Job Title: Director of Asset Management

This is a key leadership role that will ensure the Trust Director can focus on addressing and meeting the Trust's set strategic goals, specifically around the use of systems, processes, and services, enabling James Hopkins Trust to achieve its aims of providing respite care for life-limited & life-threatened children in Gloucestershire.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement the charity's strategic business plan, responding to key strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
  2. Deliver the outcomes of our priority aims and objectives through the measurement of our KPIs while leading the continual implementation of the Trust's Vision, Mission, and Values.
  3. Manage the charity effectively, ensuring that its financial security, asset management, and risk appraisal are maintained and enhanced.
  4. Take overall responsibility for achieving, monitoring, and reporting on performance against targets in all areas of the Trust's activities, taking appropriate action as required.
Business and Financial Planning:
  1. Oversee the preparation of the income and expenditure reports to the Board of Trustees.
  2. Ensure the accurate recording and allocation of all income and expenditure and ensure that office overheads/budgets remain within target, liaising with suppliers to ensure cost and service efficiencies.
  3. Be accountable to the Trustees for the overall financial health of James Hopkins Trust, ensuring that new funding opportunities are pursued.
  4. Procure competitive bids for services and goods with appropriate financial agreements while ensuring transparency within the limits of the Trust Manager's authorization.
Human Resources:
  1. Review existing HR policies and procedures to ensure accurate information is being used and applied.
  2. Oversee the development of the Trust's performance management system.
  3. Approve the content for James Hopkins Trust's website, ensuring it is relevant, engaging, and up to date.
Systems and Procedures:
  1. Ensure that James Hopkins Trust's activities meet organizational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, ethical policies, and general duty of care.
  2. Oversee the Trust's complaints procedure, responding to complaints as required.
  3. Develop and maintain James Hopkins Trust's risk management & contingency procedures.
Facilities Management:
  1. Ensure that the building and grounds are properly maintained and are fit for purpose, managed consistently within legislative requirements.
  2. Support the Charity Manager in building strong relationships with a range of potential funders and oversee shaping and writing of major grant applications.
General Management:
  1. Responsible for ensuring the personal health and safety of all staff is maintained by following safe systems of work and by meeting the requirements of the health and safety policy.
  2. Ensure that the Trust's equality policies are followed and actively practice inclusion within all areas of James Hopkins Trust.
