**Technical Support Engineer**

Join the Department for Business & Trade as a Technical Support Engineer and contribute to the success of our team. As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical advice and support to OPSS/DBT colleagues, other government departments, meter manufacturers, industry groups, trade associations, and energy suppliers.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Support Delivery: Work with the Utilities Team Manager to support the delivery of the team's statutory responsibilities under primary legislation.
  • Provide Technical Advice: Offer expert technical advice and support to colleagues, other government departments, industry groups, trade associations, and energy suppliers.
  • Contract Management: Undertake contract management and performance monitoring activities associated with an outsourced service provider.
  • Reduce Regulatory Burden: Assist businesses in complying with legal requirements to reduce the regulatory burden.

**Requirements**

  • A degree (or equivalent) in engineering or a related field is essential.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to interpret complex data.
  • A willingness for occasional travel both nationally and internationally.
