Job Introduction

DAC Beachcroft is seeking a skilled Solicitor to join our esteemed Counter Fraud team in Belfast. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated solicitor to specialize in this area of expertise and contribute to a collaborative and award-winning team of lawyers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle a caseload of predominantly litigated claims on both the County Court and High Court jurisdictions, with appropriate supervision, potentially across multiple clients.
  • Attend County Courts and the High Court in person or remotely for advocacy purposes.
  • Act as a point of contact for clients, demonstrating a level of knowledge and skill commensurate with experience.
  • Ensure full compliance with clients' SLAs and DAC Beachcroft's internal protocols.
  • Demonstrate a high level of financial management in respect of own files.
  • Achieve annual fee targets and hit 1440 chargeable hours per year (if full-time).
  • Support marketing and business development activity within the team, e.g., attending marketing events and client training.
  • Build an awareness of the Firm's other services, developing effective internal and external networks.
  • Maintain and develop technical knowledge through attendance at training sessions, reading relevant publications, and meeting Solicitors Regulatory Authority CPD requirements, where necessary.
  • Prompt and accurate provision of MI.
Requirements
  • A Practising Solicitor (0 – 3 years PQE) preferably with a strong litigation background.
  • Expertise in fraud is beneficial, but not essential.
  • Knowledge of motor and credit hire claims is beneficial.
  • Sound knowledge of the Litigious processes and procedures in N. Ireland.
  • Confident negotiator and communicator.
  • First-class investigation and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative without close supervision but also a team player with a collegiate approach to knowledge sharing and problem solving.
  • A commercial perspective on legal issues.
  • Demonstrates alignment with the Firm's Cultural Principles (Clear, Creative, Determined, and Supportive).
