The successful candidate will work as a multi-skilled member of the team, providing high-level support to the hospital with minimal supervision.

The Porter will be responsible for a variety of duties, including:

Driver Duties

  • To collect and transport equipment between hospital sites.
  • To collect and transport bloods and specimens to and from the Pathology Laboratory.
  • To collect and transport mail, notes, equipment, and other requested items between hospital sites.
  • To drive the hospital vehicle and maintain its condition.

General Porter Duties

  • To collect, sort, and deliver internal and external mail.
  • To remove clinical and non-clinical waste and dispose of or store it appropriately.
  • To assist with the unloading of heavy deliveries.
  • To ensure the car park and surrounding areas are clear of litter.

The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. They will also be required to work shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
