Academics is seeking a passionate Psychology Graduate to join their Primary School in Thurrock as a Learning Support Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate to gain hands-on experience working with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Mental Health issues.

The successful candidate will work closely with trained professionals such as child psychologists, speech & language therapists, and pastoral support, allowing them to gain invaluable insight into the career they may want to progress into.

The ideal candidate will be warm and welcoming, able to work as part of a team, have excellent communication skills, and use discretion and confidentiality. They will also have experience/knowledge of supporting SEN and a degree in Psychology or a related subject.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will have the opportunity to gain invaluable experience working with children who have SEN or Mental Health issues. You will also work closely with trained professionals, allowing you to gain insight into the career you may want to progress into.

Academics is a friendly and supportive school, offering a long-term contract with the view of going permanent. The salary is £83-£100 per day, and the role is full-time.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with trained professionals to support children with SEN or Mental Health issues
  • Using discretion and confidentiality to maintain a safe and supportive environment
  • Having excellent communication skills to work effectively with colleagues and parents
  • Having experience/knowledge of supporting SEN to provide effective support to children
