West Midlands Combined Authority, United Kingdom Rowden Full time

At Rowden, we are committed to building a cutting-edge engineering powerhouse in the UK. We strive to bridge the gap between the needs of mission-focused organisations and the development of critical technology. As a Cyber Security Consultant, you will be part of our team that designs and builds systems, infrastructure, and applications to deliver mission advantage to those working to protect the security of the UK and its allies.

We operate in a hybrid-working model, with an average of 3 days in the office each week. This role offers valuable learning opportunities and exposure to diverse security challenges. You will assess, monitor, and enhance the security posture of mission-critical systems, identifying vulnerabilities, responding to security issues, and providing actionable recommendations to mitigate risks.

Main Responsibilities
  • You will conduct Threat and Vulnerability Management (TVM) to establish a holistic view of the organisation's attack surface and risk, integrating it into operations and engineering decisions.
  • You will support the collection, management, and dissemination of actions based on Cyber Threat Intelligence.
  • You will support the development and implementation of security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • You will provide input into the design and implementation of security architectures and solutions.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
  • You should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in cyber security or IT related roles.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CompTIA N+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or other cybersecurity certifications are desirable but not mandatory.
  • You should have basic knowledge of networking, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and common security tools.
  • Experience with security tools such as Tenable, RedSeal, and network management solutions is a plus.
  • Project-based experience in cyber security is advantageous.
  • You must be able to embed yourself within client teams, build and maintain strong relationships, and collaborate effectively on shared goals to deliver high-quality outputs.

This is a permanent full-time position with a salary range of £60,000 to £70,000 per year. We welcome the opportunity to discuss flexibility, part-time working requirements, and/or workplace adjustments with all our applicants. Rowden is a Disability Confident Committed company and actively encourages people with disabilities and health conditions to apply for our roles.
