Job Overview

The Research Nurse/Clinical Trials Practitioner is a key member of the multi-disciplinary team, responsible for the coordination and management of a clinical research portfolio. This includes in-house, national, and international phase I, II, and III clinical trials in cellular therapies and paediatric/TYA oncology and haematology.

Main Duties
  • Work clinically to support the running of clinical trials across the Paediatric and Teenage/Young Adult portfolio, adhering to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other research team members, including Research Nurses, Clinical Trial Practitioners, and Data Managers.
  • Contribute to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical trial protocols within the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Identify potential patients and evaluate their eligibility for clinical trials.
  • Act as patient advocate, assisting in obtaining informed consent and providing education on clinical trials.
  • Register and randomize patients, provide general information on clinical trials, and document patient information in medical notes.
  • Schedule and complete study assessments, collect and prepare biological samples, and train other team members.
  • Assist with trial setup and coordination, and consult with Principal Investigators and Sponsors.
