Your Role

As a Highly Skilled Maintenance Technician, you'll play a critical part in ensuring the maintenance and operational running of our new Aventra Class 730 Fleet meets contractual requirements. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to diagnose potential train faults, provide technical support, and perform static functional testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the TSA of the Fleet
  • Rectify technical, vehicle quality, and aesthetical faults
  • Maintain and prepare units for operation
  • Record and report faults
  • Analyse and rectify faults
  • Liaise with Outstation and ISST roles
  • Provide scope of work instructions
  • Assist depot teams with fault finding expertise and train repair activities
  • Undertake campaigns for fleet software updates
  • Proficient in fault analysis tools (Fleet Monitor, OTDR, System fault log analysis)
  • Implement tasks according to Vehicle Maintenance Instructions (VMIs) and Vehicle Maintenance Procedures (VMPS)
  • Facilitate off-site working around customer networks
  • Provide on-train technical support
  • Support customer operational requirements
  • Detailed fault reporting and recording on web-based and App-based systems
  • Improve maintained product reliability and serviceability
  • Propose innovative solutions and develop/implement them
  • Assist skills development within depots and train care points
  • Arrange and undertake test runs to resolve faults
  • Functionally test train-borne systems
  • Review and rectify test specifications and documentation
  • Assist validation of documentation issued for maintenance and repair activities
  • Validate Maintenance Schedule amendments and other technical instructions
