Anaesthetics Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Anaesthetist to join our team at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust. As a key member of our anaesthesia department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in a 1:8 Consultant of the Week model, including prospective cover for Obstetrics and emergency theatres.
- Join a team of 8 Consultants with several Specialists and Specialty Doctors supporting all general services of the hospital, including a busy Accident and Emergency department.
- On-call shifts provide non-residential cover of Obstetrics and emergency theatres, supervising a dedicated resident anaesthetist.
- Lead Assessments of the deteriorating patient for emergency admission to the Intensive Care Unit.
- Lead the team in managing pre and post-operative theatre admissions.
- Participate in clinical audit, governance, and quality improvement.
- Demonstrate evidence-based practice where appropriate.
- Undertake and participate in the appraisal process and job planning.
- Satisfy the criteria for revalidation.
- Contribute to service development in areas of special interest and expertise.
- Actively participate in continuing medical education.

Requirements- Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice.
- FICM or an equivalent qualification.
- FRCA or an equivalent appropriate higher anaesthetic qualification.
