About Serco's Prisoner Escort & Custody Services
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Custody Officer to provide safe and secure escorting and custody services to detainees in our court. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with colleagues to ensure the physical and mental wellbeing of those in your care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accompany defendants in court rooms and cells, ensuring their safety and security.
- Search property or people as required, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to protocols.
- Provide support and care to detainees, including ensuring food and drink is available and completing necessary paperwork and data entry.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to hold a current valid driver's license, be reasonably fit, and possess good written and verbal communication skills. Our training program will equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in this challenging and rewarding role.
Our Assessment Process:
Our recruitment process includes an online assessment, a briefing call, a competency-based virtual interview, and a short role-play and written exercise. All roles are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 4, and satisfactory employment references will be required.
