Job Title: Warehouse Associate

About the Role:

Optimas is seeking a skilled Warehouse Associate to join our team in Gloucester, UK. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Meet the requirements of our Quality, Health & Safety, and Environment policies.
  2. Understand and promote our business objectives.
  3. Ensure regular status reviews with Line Management and relevant personnel.
  4. Agree with Line Management on appropriate Key Performance Indicators to monitor performance.
  5. Understand work requirements and receive supervised training as per our training requirements.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. Confirm items picked correspond to the items described on the picking note.
  2. Pick & pack items to ensure they remain secure and undamaged.
  3. Arrange for the issue of certification as detailed on the picking note.
  4. Ensure parts from different manufacturers are packed to retain their identity.
  5. Load goods for dispatch onto transport within deadlines.
  6. Check for damaged labels and request replacements.
  7. Cover for envoys as required, subject to relevant licenses held.
  8. Unload goods delivered and check that they match goods received.
  9. Book products onto the system and pass samples and paperwork to Inspection.
  10. Put goods away to picking or pallet locations.
  11. Confirm receipt of documentation accompanying the delivery.
  12. Repackage bulk product into smaller quantities as required.
  13. Fill boxing machine hoppers as necessary.
  14. Move boxed goods to designated storage locations.
  15. Resolve discrepancies noted when picking.
  16. Advise line manager of potential stock outages.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience in a warehouse environment, ideally a distribution centre.
  2. Fork Lift License / Materials Handling Equipment (MHE) training preferred.
  3. Ability to work at height.
  4. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  5. Results-focused with attention to detail.
  6. Flexible, friendly approach with a team focus.
  7. Good communication skills.
  8. Customer service focus.
  9. Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  10. Manual handling skills – regularly lifting up to 20kg.
  11. Willingness to learn and develop skills across all warehousing duties.
  12. Flexible approach to work patterns as department operates on a three-shift pattern (AM/PM).
