Job Summary

We are seeking a laboratory technician to join our team, providing experimental and computational support for our teaching and research activities. The successful candidate will work closely with our faculty and staff to deliver high-quality laboratory experiences for our students.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing experiments, including those related to basic electronics, mechanics, solid-state physics, and other areas of the physics curriculum.
  • Providing technical assistance to students during laboratory sessions and supporting project students with their final-year projects.
  • Maintaining laboratory facilities, including PAT testing and ensuring health and safety protocols are in place.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant HNC, HND, undergraduate physics degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of practical techniques used in physics laboratories and excellent IT skills.
  • Experience of working independently and as part of a team, with good interpersonal skills and effective communication.

Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 per annum.
