Job Overview

This full-time position is part of the Investigation and Enforcement Directorate's Investigation Team (North) located in Manchester. As a Business Administrator, you will deliver quality administrative support to technical staff handling civil cases investigations.

You will contribute to the organization and management of the team, ensuring efficient and professional delivery of meetings and events. This role requires excellent organizational skills, ability to work well under pressure, and adapt to changing priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete initial actions on investigations and create accurate notes to confirm undertaken actions.
  • Undertake ad hoc/urgent tasks with tight deadlines, including admin support on visits, analysis, post linking, and preparing exhibit bundles.
  • Provide first-level analysis of data, including HMRC ledgers and bank statements.
  • Ensure prompt action on outstanding replies, issuing reminders, and updating in-house Case Management System notes.
  • Draft letters based on templates and follow up responses to correspondence.
  • Support the organization and coordination of face-to-face events, meetings, and video conferences.
  • Review and manage team mailboxes, dealing with queries, and referring where necessary.
  • Produce meeting papers and supporting documents for efficient and professional delivery.

  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to work well under pressure and deliver to timescales.
  • Good interpersonal and influencing skills, flexible, and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to see the wider impact, build great working relationships, and collaborate to achieve shared outcomes.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, excellent customer service, and delivery focus.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages and ability to learn in-house IT systems.
  • Awareness and interest in insolvency and associated legislation.
