This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced Workshop Supervisor to join a well-established HGV service company. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of a smaller workshop in Corby, ensuring that all vehicles are maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance & Scheduling: Collaborate with the Distribution Manager to plan and schedule maintenance and servicing of company vehicles.
  • Workshop Coordination: Effectively manage workflow and resource allocation to optimize manpower and facilities usage.
  • Quality Standards Compliance: Ensure vehicle maintenance meets Fleet Engineer standards, incorporating updates on new legislation.
  • MOT & Documentation: Coordinate MOT preparation and bookings, maintaining accurate records of vehicle defects.
  • Cost-Effective Repairs: Make informed decisions on repair or replacement to ensure economical maintenance practices.
  • External Repairs Coordination: Organize specialist services, including warranty repairs and tire servicing, in consultation with the Fleet Engineer.
  • Equipment Safety: Ensure workshop equipment is properly maintained and compliant with legislative standards.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:

A strong background in vehicle diagnostics, with demonstrable experience within a vehicle workshop setting, is essential for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

Possession of an LGV license, knowledge of bulk tanker pressure systems, and a Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Transport (or equivalent) would be advantageous.
