Rehabilitation Therapist Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Rehabilitation Assistant to join our team at Central London Community Health Trust. As a key member of our rehabilitation team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our patients with physical disabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the initial and ongoing assessment of patients by completing relevant paperwork and recording feedback to therapists.
- Prepare for and assist with clinical activities delivered by therapists, adhering to universal precautions and ensuring effective cleaning of equipment.
- Undertake prescribed therapy activities and ADL assessments, reporting any variances or concerns to relevant team members.
- Assess safety of conditions and environment prior to in/outdoor rehabilitation activities.
- Provide clear communication and explanations to patients, responding to questions posed during interventions with no direct supervision.
- Coach other support staff in undertaking prescribed therapeutic interventions and using specific equipment.
- Enable clients to maintain and improve their independence by fitting prescribed equipment, demonstrating and educating safe use of equipment.
- Educated to GCSE level, with English and Mathematics at grade C or above.
- NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or Promoting Independence or Rehabilitation or equivalent undergraduate award.
- Moderate experience of working in a caring role in the NHS for at least a year, including patients with physical disabilities.
- Experience working as a member of a team, with sound understanding of confidentiality.
- Knowledge of recent NHS developments and how they may impact on patient care, as well as current issues in the delivery of Services for older people.
- A comprehensive induction into the community service, followed by a local induction to introduce you to the role.
