Salary: £42,495 per annum, plus benefits

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement AI safety research strategies to mitigate risks associated with advanced AI systems
  • Collaborate with technical researchers to design and deliver new research projects aligned with the department's strategic objectives
  • Communicate research findings to senior officials, ministers, and other stakeholders to inform policy decisions
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including AI companies and government agencies
  • Coordinate model tests and evaluations to ensure AI systems are safe and effective

Person Specification

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual with a strong background in AI strategy, risk management, or a related field. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and have a proven track record of delivering high-impact results.

Office Attendance

The Department operates a discretionary hybrid working policy, which provides for a combination of working hours from your place of work and from your home in the UK. The current expectation for staff is to attend the office or non-home based location for 40-60% of the time over the accounting period.
