We are seeking a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager to join our team at Dover in Glasgow. As the HSE Manager, you will play a key role in developing and implementing our Zero Harm at Work and at Home culture.

Reporting to the Global HSE Director and Glasgow Plant Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring HSE compliance across the site. This includes planning, implementing, and overseeing programs to eliminate or reduce occupational injuries, illnesses, regulatory risk, and environmental impact.

You will promote incident prevention for the benefit of employees and visitors by walking the manufacturing floor regularly to establish an HSE-conscious culture and provide support. Your role will also involve identifying, driving, presenting, and leading HSE opportunities for improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing HSE policies and procedures
  • Conducting regular site audits and inspections
  • Liaising with facilities and maintenance management to ensure safety critical equipment
  • Representing the organisation in community or industry safety groups and programs
  • Monitoring and reporting on site conditions and standards inspections, audits, and Zero Harm at Home Behavioural Based Safety system tools

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH Diploma or degree level HSE qualification
  • CMIOSH
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role within a product manufacturing site environment, ideally mechanical or precision engineering
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of HSE system capabilities
  • In-depth knowledge of UK Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation
  • Awareness of Safety and Environmental standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001)

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum
