Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Protocol Education is seeking a caring and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a student with Special Educational Needs. This role requires someone who is patient, adaptable, and passionate about making a positive difference in the life of a child who requires additional support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a student with SEN, ensuring they are fully engaged in classroom activities.
  • Assist the student with learning tasks, helping them to achieve their individual targets.
  • Support the student's social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Help implement strategies and interventions outlined in the student's Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP).
  • Adapt learning materials and activities to suit the needs of the student.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to support.
  • Provide regular feedback on the student's progress and well-being to teachers and parents.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly in a 1:1 setting.
  • Strong understanding of a range of SEN conditions, such as Autism, ADHD, or learning difficulties.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build a positive relationship with the student.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external specialists.
  • Experience using interventions and strategies tailored to support students with SEN is desirable.
