Empowering Learning is currently recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to work within our SEND Schools in Havering, East London, supporting pupils with ASC and complex needs.

The ideal candidate will be able to support pupils daily in the classroom, playing a key role in supporting the pupils with communication, learning, and independence, in a safe and inclusive environment to help their development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with ASC
  • Supervising pupil's behaviour
  • Encouraging and supporting the pupils learning and development
  • Supporting social interaction
  • Helping the teacher prepare for lessons and plan activities
  • Personal care

Requirements:

  • Experience of supporting children or adults with ASC - desirable
  • Experience supporting children with learning difficulties or disabilities - desirable
  • Strong communication skills
  • Valid child and adult enhanced DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one
  • Available 5 days a week
  • Able to commit to 6-12 months
