Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Commissioning Specialist to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Ships Electrical Commissioning team, you will play a critical role in the commissioning of complex electrical systems on our ships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring they are safely and efficiently integrated into the ship's infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement commissioning plans, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of electrical systems, identifying and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to less experienced team members, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Develop and maintain detailed records of commissioning activities, ensuring accurate and transparent documentation.
  • Represent the company on contractors' sea trials and other outworking requirements, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in electrical commissioning, with a strong understanding of electrical control and instrumentation systems.
  • Knowledge of safety controls and procedures in high-risk environments, with a focus on electrical systems.
  • Experience working with complex systems, including power plants, motors, and high-voltage systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical design documentation and drawings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
