Job Title: Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer

BAE Systems (New) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Commissioning Electrical team, you will play a critical role in the commissioning of complex electrical systems on board our ships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring they are safely and efficiently integrated into the ship's infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and documentation.
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of electrical systems to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
  • Mentor and train less experienced team members to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including test plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Represent the company on contractors' sea trials and other outworking requirements.
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of electrical control and instrumentation systems, including hydraulic, pressurized air, and gas systems.
  • Experience in commissioning complex systems, power plants, motors, and high-voltage systems.
  • Ability to write and issue rip-out documentation to process, identifying correct isolations to safety isolate ship systems.
  • HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Knowledge of test equipment and activities required for specific tests.
  • Understanding of safety controls and procedures in a high-risk environment.
  • Awareness of Nuclear Site/Authorization Conditions.
