About the Role:

The NEC Group is seeking a skilled Casual Event Catering Manager to join our team at Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences and ensuring the smooth operation of our catering services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Forecast and report financial data accurately, consulting with the Catering Operations Manager to improve profitability.
  • Implement and manage health and safety policies, procedures, and arrangements, ensuring all staff are trained and adhere to protocols.
  • Proactively manage resources and respond to changes in the business, controlling the temporary labour budget.
  • Manage, train, and develop colleagues to deliver business activity and drive growth.
  • Deputise for the Catering Operations Manager in their absence.
  • Implement, monitor, and oversee delivery of standards, meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Provide effective complaint handling, investigating complaints and liaising with customers and staff.
  • Demonstrate high leadership skills, promoting a positive group culture and staff motivation.
  • Allocate duties and responsibilities to team members.
  • Ensure pre-booked goods and services are delivered to customer satisfaction.
  • Control the temporary labour budget.
  • Participate in sales meetings to identify opportunities for themed and new concepts in retail and hospitality.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a multi-faceted catering retail environment or a Junior Manager position.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure with excellent customer service skills and attention to detail.
  • Computer literacy and competence in Microsoft Office, numeracy, and literacy with good verbal and written communication skills.
