We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor or Environmental Manager to join our client's team in the Energy sector on a full-time basis. As part of the role, you will play a key part in implementing policies and strategies that drive continuous improvement in environmental management.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a tier 1 contractor who values sustainability and wants to make a positive impact in the community. You will have the chance to work closely with colleagues from various departments to share your expertise and contribute to the development of environmental policies and strategies.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of environmental management systems processes and procedures, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Liaise with external parties and regulators, including the Environmental Agency, to maintain relationships and facilitate effective communication.
  • Oversee all environmental data, including internal and external report requirements, to inform strategic decision-making and drive business growth.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote a positive step change in environmental management and behaviors, supporting the company's net-zero ambition.
  • Lead on ISO 14001 accreditation and support internal and external audits to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

What We Need from You:

  • At least 5 years of experience in the Utilities sector, preferably in the Gas sector, with a strong understanding of environmental legislation and applied controls.
  • Excellent knowledge of environmental advice in both office and field workforce environments, with experience in design, build, and improvement of environmental management systems.
  • Able to demonstrate exceptional communication skills, conveying complex information simply and effectively in plain language.
  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience, and a Full UK Driving License.

Benefits:

This role comes with a competitive salary of around £55,000-£70,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits, including a generous annual leave entitlement, a competitive pension scheme, and opportunities for professional development.
