Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team in Burnley, Lancashire. As an Intervention Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) needs and delivering interventions/small group sessions.
Key Responsibilities- Build Relationships: Establish strong relationships with children to ensure they engage with the curriculum and their learning.
- Nurturing Approach: Adopt a calm and nurturing approach to create a positive learning environment for children.
- Lesson Planning: Collaborate with the Class Teacher to plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the needs of diverse learners.
- Curriculum Understanding: Have a good understanding of the KS1/KS2 National Curriculum and work alongside the KS1/KS2 Curriculum.
- Differentiation: Differentiate learning to meet the needs of children with additional needs.
- Professional Development: Be willing to upskill yourself through continuous professional development.
- Safeguarding: Ensure the safeguarding of all pupils and adhere to the school's policies and participate in regular safeguarding training.
- Progress Monitoring: Assess children's progress and record feedback to provide to children, parents, and the Class Teacher.
- Qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Curriculum Knowledge: Have a good understanding of the KS1/KS2 National Curriculum.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Behaviour Management: Effective behaviour management strategies.
- DBS Certificate: Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service.
- SEMH Experience: Experience supporting children with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Intervention Experience: Experience delivering interventions/small group sessions.
