Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team in Burnley, Lancashire. As an Intervention Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) needs and delivering interventions/small group sessions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build Relationships: Establish strong relationships with children to ensure they engage with the curriculum and their learning.
  • Nurturing Approach: Adopt a calm and nurturing approach to create a positive learning environment for children.
  • Lesson Planning: Collaborate with the Class Teacher to plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the needs of diverse learners.
  • Curriculum Understanding: Have a good understanding of the KS1/KS2 National Curriculum and work alongside the KS1/KS2 Curriculum.
  • Differentiation: Differentiate learning to meet the needs of children with additional needs.
  • Professional Development: Be willing to upskill yourself through continuous professional development.
  • Safeguarding: Ensure the safeguarding of all pupils and adhere to the school's policies and participate in regular safeguarding training.
  • Progress Monitoring: Assess children's progress and record feedback to provide to children, parents, and the Class Teacher.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Curriculum Knowledge: Have a good understanding of the KS1/KS2 National Curriculum.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Behaviour Management: Effective behaviour management strategies.
  • DBS Certificate: Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service.
  • SEMH Experience: Experience supporting children with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Intervention Experience: Experience delivering interventions/small group sessions.
