Sr. Procurement Manager, Surface Transportation Procurement Role

About the Position: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Procurement Manager to drive the sourcing of services that support the growth of Amazon's Middle Mile network.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. You will be responsible for the procurement of a specific Surface Transportation category in our middle mile network, covering EU and UK.
  2. You will define procurement strategies for your area of responsibility and set up key Procurement KPIs to measure, monitor and improve metrics such as Total Cost of Ownership.
  3. You will work closely with a team of Operations, Program and Product Managers to drive the collection and implementation of requirements, ensure alignment with corporate objectives and contractual obligations.

A Day in the Life:

You will work closely with the Amazon Fleet Programs, Operations, and Finance teams to deliver results in a highly ambiguous environment.

About the Team:

You will be part of the Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team, which plays a central role in our success. Our team captures data and uses it to drive decisions, making Amazon more innovative and efficient.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A degree is required.
  2. Relevant professional experience in procurement is essential.
  3. Experience with contract negotiations is crucial.
  4. Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English is necessary.
  5. Relevant experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment is desirable.
  6. Relevant experience in using data analytics to solve problems is important.
  7. Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership, is essential.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or distribution is beneficial.
  2. Experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership, is valuable.
  3. A bachelor's, master's or advanced degree in business management, economics, law, engineering or supply chain and logistics is advantageous.
  4. Advanced proficiency in written and verbal German is a plus.
  5. Knowledge of COUPA tool is useful.

The estimated salary for this position is £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience.
