A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Indirect Category Buyer to join Butler Ross, a well-established manufacturing organisation based in the North of England. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the purchasing needs of technical goods and services, developing and implementing procurement strategies, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:- Preparing, executing, and evaluating tenders to ensure best value for the organisation
- Negotiating contracts and driving their implementation to achieve cost savings and process improvements
- Developing and implementing procurement strategies for local categories to meet the needs of the business
- Managing supplier relationships and conducting performance reviews to ensure high-quality goods and services
- Controlling spending and fostering the use of standard tools and processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
- Ensuring that the purchasing needs of technical goods and services are met, and that suppliers are managed effectively
- Developing and maintaining close and productive relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met
- A professional qualification in purchasing, such as CIPS, or at least 5 years of strategic buyer experience
- Experience in purchasing indirect goods and services, ideally in a manufacturing organisation
- Experience using SAP or similar procurement systems
- Strong commercial and contract negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders
- A valid UK driving licence, with the ability to travel to sites as required
