Genomics Technologist Role

The Cambridge Stem Cell Institute is a world-renowned centre for stem cell research, dedicated to advancing human health through a profound understanding of stem cell biology.

This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and experienced Genomics Technologist to join our Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) facility, supporting the general NGS needs of our researchers and expanding into delivering spatial genomics services.

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with the Facility Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the NGS facility, assist in delivering new innovative methods for our Discovery Research Platform, and collaborate with bioinformaticians and researchers engaged in various NGS projects.

Responsibilities will include coordinating and planning incoming projects, receiving samples from facility users, performing spatial, single cell, and bulk NGS library preparations, QC of RNA and DNA samples and libraries, implementing new protocols, managing specialized equipment, providing expert technical advice, and purchasing consumables.

We are seeking an individual with excellent organizational, documentation, and time management skills, as well as experience supporting a variety of research projects in a core environment or support role. The ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively at all levels is essential.
