Clinical Nurse Specialist Upper GI Cancer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Gastroenterology CNS team at Barts Health NHS Trust at Whipps Cross Hospital site.
The post holder will provide expert care and advice to deliver services reflecting the needs of patients with Upper GI and Hepatobiliary cancer, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, clinically effective care throughout the patient pathway.
Main Duties of the JobTo develop, implement, and evaluate a seamless nurse specialist service, ensuring that patients with upper GI and hepatobiliary malignancy attending hospital receive the highest standard of clinical care and have access to a fully comprehensive support service.
The clinical nurse specialist for Upper GI cancers will influence patient care through clinical practice, management, leadership, education, research, audit, and professional activities, considering corporate and directorate objectives and the clinical governance framework.
To act as a resource for teaching and educating patients and staff.

Person SpecificationWe are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality care and advice to patients with Upper GI and Hepatobiliary cancer.
They will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to work effectively as a team member.
The candidate will also have experience in prioritizing instructions and managing their own clinical caseload independently.
They will be able to demonstrate a belief in patient-centred philosophy of care and have a proven ability to identify when the needs of the client are not met and develop strategies to improve the service.
They will also have experience of quality assurance activity and knowledge of the education process.
