A dynamic Ashdown Group client in the education sector is seeking an experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join their team. Based in the Gravesend area, this exciting opportunity involves covering a 12-month fixed-term contract due to maternity leave.

In this role, you will assume responsibilities for managing the nursery team in the absence of the Nursery Manager, upholding high standards of care and education. Key tasks include maintaining accurate staff-to-child ratios, supervising the weekly staff rota, and contributing to the development of a stimulating early years curriculum.

Key aspects of the position involve:

  • Ensuring the smooth operation of the nursery during the Nursery Manager's absence.
  • Managing staff performance, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of excellence.
  • Maintaining open communication with parents and external agencies.

The successful candidate must possess:

  • Proven leadership or team management experience within an Early Years setting.
  • A Level 3 (or higher) qualification in Childcare or Early Years.
  • Exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills.

A competitive salary package is offered, including a pro rata annual salary of £28,000 to £33,000.
