About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join our team at Vistry South East Midlands, based at our Wellingborough site. As a key member of our site management team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Project Manager and Site Manager in the day-to-day control of the site, management and delivery of project works, and the day-to-day management and delivery of a larger-scale housing project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Project Manager and Site Manager in the day-to-day control of the site, management and delivery of project works, and the day-to-day management and delivery of a larger-scale housing project.
  • Manage and coordinate the activities of sub-contractors, including monitoring of contractor attendance and progress, and providing direct instruction and support as necessary.
  • Ensure the successful completion of the overall project, leading by example in all aspects of the role, and managing the day-to-day delivery of construction projects, quality, time, procurement, and contractors.
  • Participate in safety initiatives, maintain site cleanliness and presentation, and ensure the safety and welfare of the general public, staff, and supply chain within their control under the strict observance of the safety policy.
  • Work closely with the project Surveyor to appreciate the commercial implications and drivers within the construction process and incorporate these into decision-making.
Requirements
  • SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid, and Scaffold inspection qualification.
  • Ability to work on any project secured by the business within a reasonable locality.
  • Self-sufficient, works independently, and can deliver projects with some support from visiting Contracts Manager.
  • Hands-on, boots-on-site, and interacting with the trades and their supervision.
