About the Role

The Counselling Service at the University of Oxford is seeking a skilled Counsellor to join their team. As a Counsellor, you will be responsible for delivering individual, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioural therapy to students and staff. You will work closely with the Deputy Heads of Counselling to develop the service and support the wider work of the Counselling Service.

The ideal candidate will have British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy Individual Counsellor Accreditation or equivalent, as well as substantial experience in delivering individual counselling and adapting therapeutic models to brief approaches. You will be flexible, with excellent planning, communication, and organisational skills, and be willing to take an active role in the development of the service.

The service operates under the Universities New Ways of Working Framework, offering a hybrid working pattern with a minimum expectation of one day per week on-site and a minimum of one day to be worked remotely. You will be expected to work one evening a week during term-time.

About You

We are seeking an individual who displays a flexible approach, with expert knowledge of best counselling practice and the ability to work in a complex and challenging environment. You will have experience working remotely, including providing assessments and ongoing counselling online.
