Join BMW Group's Farnborough Team as a Regulatory Compliance Specialist

We are looking for highly driven and analytical individuals to join our Legal, Compliance & Data Privacy teams in Farnborough. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading automotive company and gain valuable experience in regulatory compliance.

About the Role

This 13-month placement will provide you with the chance to develop your skills in legal operations, innovation, and analysis. You will support our Senior Legal Counsel in high-value litigation cases, work on legal operations and innovation topics, and assist other team members in various ways.

The role involves working on high-value litigation cases, including research, case management, and administrative tasks. You will also be responsible for generating documents such as advisory documentation, compliance risk reports, and committee packs.

In addition, you will provide independent assurance through risk assessments, thematic reviews, and ongoing surveillance activities. You may also own the upcoming regulations scanning process, manage the team inbox, and respond to queries.

You will have the opportunity to learn about sales compliance, which gives you commercial understanding of how compliance is an important aspect of the financial services industry. You will support the ongoing oversight of our intermediaries, covering key topics around overall governance, culture, and values, and sales processes.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive annual salary of £23,700, 27 days holiday per annum (pro rata to your contract), and an attractive pension scheme. Contracted working hours are 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday, helping you develop a fulfilling work-life balance.

Requirements
  • Studying towards a degree with a predicted grade of 2:2 or above, in a relevant field such as Law, Business, Social Sciences, and Finance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work on their own initiative.
  • Flexible and adaptable individual.
  • Enthusiastic, passionate with a curiosity to learn and succeed.
  • A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this position, you must be returning to your studies for a minimum of 6 months after completion of this placement. You must be able to provide proof of your legal right to work in the UK.
