We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of IT Portfolio Management to lead our IT project management team at Blackfield Associates. About the Role
The Director of IT Portfolio Management will be responsible for leading the management of IT projects, providing oversight and guidance to a team of project managers. This role requires strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to promote best practices and ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
People Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers and business analysts.
- Manage the hiring, onboarding, and career progression of IT resources.
- Act as a liaison between IT project management and other departments.
- Remove roadblocks to ensure smooth project delivery.
Portfolio and Project Management
- Assign and monitor project work, ensuring timely completion.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Allocate resources efficiently across multiple projects.
- Manage risks, escalations, and project progress, implementing mitigation strategies when necessary.
- Oversee the development and implementation of project management policies and methodologies.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in project management, including 3 years in IT project management.
- 5+ years of experience in people management and vendor management.
- Budget management experience for portfolios over $3M.
Qualifications
- Preferred: PMP or equivalent certification, Bachelor's degree, and other relevant certifications.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and IT systems.
- Proven leadership in building high-performance teams.
- Flexible, adaptable, and experienced in managing multiple projects and timelines.
