About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Carbon Accounting Specialist to join our Sustainability and Carbon team within the Environment and Health department. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting corporate carbon accounting, net zero initiatives, and sustainability advisory projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support projects delivering carbon accounting assessments, including Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, setting targets, develop and implement carbon reduction strategies and net-zero roadmaps tailored to client needs.
  • Provide guidance on carbon management best practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with our other service offerings such as Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Carbon management in infrastructure projects, sustainability services, and whole life carbon assessments (LCAs).
About You

We are looking for a talented individual with a strong background in carbon accounting, sustainability, and environmental management. You will have a proven track record of delivering projects, developing strategies, and implementing change in the carbon areas described above.

Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Familiarity with emissions factor databases and potentially third-party GHG software tools.
  • Knowledge of reporting frameworks such as CDP, TCFD, and awareness of developments in the field, such as those around corporate sustainability reporting (EU CSRD, SASB, GRI).
  • Some familiarity with industry standards like Science-Based Targets (SBTi) and the Transition Pathway Initiative.
  • Proficiency in numerical analysis, e.g., Excel or carbon accounting software or digital platforms for carbon accounting.
  • Effective engagement and relationship-building skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal colleagues and external clients.
