Red Snapper Recruitment is seeking a dedicated professional to fill the role of Independent Domestic Abuse Advocate in Coventry.

The purpose of this position is to provide advocacy services for victims of domestic violence and abuse, working closely with agencies such as the Police and MARAC to address the issue. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering confidential outreach support services to high-risk victims, recognizing individual needs and providing short to medium-term support.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Developing and delivering confidential outreach support services to high-risk victims of domestic violence and abuse
  • Recognizing individual needs and providing short to medium-term support
  • Working with victims to identify their support needs and incorporating these into individual support plans
  • Providing translation and conversational services to users in their indigenous language
  • Coaching users to raise awareness of Life in the U.K. (systems, cultures, and laws)

This is a full-time, 37.5 hour per week role, with a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2025. The successful candidate must have a current driving license and access to a vehicle.

Requirements:

  • Current driving license and access to a vehicle
  • Ability to work with high-risk victims of domestic violence and abuse
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
