Job Title: Test Engineer - Assistant Team Leader

Job Summary:

Ultra Maritime is seeking a highly skilled Test Engineer - Assistant Team Leader to join our Test Department in Rugeley, Staffordshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our employees and the quality of our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and policies, maintaining a safe and legally compliant working environment.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct functional and system testing on MOD and commercial equipment, adhering to standard safe operating procedures and industry standards.
  • Documentation and Administration: Issue and receive safety documents, such as permits-to-work, and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the Engineering department to influence design for test parameters, plan and schedule resources, and monitor actual cost and schedule performances.
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Lead regular project-specific meetings, ensure stakeholders are informed, and produce Test/Sensor department 'cost to complete' KPIs.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: GCSE Grade C/4 Maths and English or equivalent, HNC in Electrical and Electronic Technology or equivalent, IPC 620 qualification or equivalent.
  • Skills and Experience: Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements and legislation, experience in a comparable role, ability to communicate effectively, and knowledge of internal and ISO9001:2015 Quality Management Systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Apprentice Trained: Supervisory or Team Leader qualification (ILM/CMI/NVQ or equivalent), knowledge of ERP systems (such as IFS), and IPC 610 qualification or equivalent.

Additional Requirements:

  • Travel and Overtime: Travel to alternative locations in the UK and abroad, and work overtime and unsociable hours as required.
  • Security Clearance: Obtain relevant security vetting clearance required for the role.
