An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Cardiac, Vascular and Thoracic Surgery Directorate at Transformation Unit. The post-holder will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the department, reviewing and vetting scan requests to determine appropriateness and clinical urgency to prioritise workload as needed.

Main Responsibilities
  • To perform, interpret and report a wide range of vascular ultrasound scans and other tests for vascular conditions, working autonomously.
  • Participate in clinical research and audit activities within the Vascular Laboratory.
  • Provide clinical supervision to junior vascular scientists as required.

The ideal candidate should have extensive ultrasound scanning experience and be able to independently perform, interpret and report Carotid/Vertebral arteries, lower limb arteries and lower limb venous (DVT and incompetence) scans. A relevant post-graduation qualification such as a PGCert, PGDip, MSc or equivalent is also required.

Requirements
  • Science Degree (BSc level or higher)
  • AVS (Full Accreditation with Society of Vascular Technology for Great Britain and Ireland) or HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist

The estimated salary for this position is £54,320 - £60,981 per annum including inner London HCAS.
