Building Control Specialist

About the Role:
- As a specialist in building control, you will be responsible for undertaking technical assessments and making decisions using your skills gained through qualifications and practical experience.
- You will deliver the building control function across Luton Borough Council's jurisdiction, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team on high-risk buildings, managing complex development caseloads, examining plans, conducting site inspections, and implementing enforcement action when necessary.
- You will assess dangerous structures and implement immediate remedial works.
- You will supervise and manage the work of others within the building control section, where appropriate.
Requirements:
- You must be a qualified and registered building control inspector with relevant experience.
- You should be able to work effectively in a team environment.
- You should have strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- You should have knowledge of building regulations and construction practices.
Salary and Benefits:
The estimated salary range for this role is £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. The position also offers a range of benefits, including opportunities for career development and professional growth.
