Job Description

Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our Lay Training Team as a Diversity and Inclusion Training Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in advancing our diocesan vision for Confident Christians, Growing Churches, and Transforming Communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver a range of training pathways and programmes to support the growth and development of lay people across the diverse contexts and traditions of the Church of England.
  • Contribute to the worshipping life and outreach of a vibrant cathedral, working collaboratively with colleagues to build up the ministry of the whole people of God.
  • Engage with lay people from differing backgrounds, providing effective training and support to help them grow in their faith and ministry.
  • Collaborate with the Lay Training Team Leader and other stakeholders to develop and implement training strategies that align with our diocesan vision.

Requirements

  • Be a practising Christian and Clerk in Holy Orders in the Church of England, in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
  • Have a strong commitment to building up the ministry of the whole people of God, with a particular focus on diversity, inclusion, and social justice.
  • Be able to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve our diocesan vision.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with people from diverse backgrounds and contexts.
