Job Title: Activity Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Activity Therapist to join our team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As an Activity Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality clinical care to patients, working autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide occupational therapy assessments, treatment, and management to patients, maintaining up-to-date records.
  • Work as an autonomous practitioner, prioritizing your designated clinical caseload and engaging in out-of-hours and weekend work on a rota basis.
  • Undertake competent occupational therapy assessments, using problem-oriented medical records to inform clinical reasoning.
  • Develop and implement individual therapy programs, utilizing a range of treatment options, including provision of disability equipment, group therapy, and relaxation and anxiety management programs.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals, attending multidisciplinary team meetings and contributing to service and policy developments.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Experience of working in acute or rehabilitation settings, with physical health experience in the NHS.
  • Excellent communication and prioritization skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
