Job Title: Planning Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Planning Manager to join our team at Stafforce. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing production plans that meet customer demands while ensuring efficient use of resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer orders and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Monitor and manage the flow of jobs through various production stages to optimize efficiency and minimize bottlenecks.
  • Lead departmental continuous improvement projects to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Ensure production plans adhere to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze production data and performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of production plans and make data-driven decisions.
  • Lead the planning process to align production plans with sales forecasts and overall business goals.
  • Maintain effective communication channels with various departments to ensure a seamless production process.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs for the Planning department to meet or exceed annual objectives.
  • Apply Lean Production techniques to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Encourage talent development through mentoring, coaching, and empowerment of colleagues and reports.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:

  • Familiarize yourself with the Health and Safety Policy and implement it at all times.
  • Develop a concern for Health & Safety personally and for others, particularly new employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Avoid improvising and suggest ways of eliminating hazards.
  • Cooperate with the Company in maintaining a safe working environment and contribute to reducing accidents.
  • Take care of Company property and refrain from horseplay, abuse of welfare facilities, and misuse of equipment.
  • Operate only equipment for which you have been trained, deemed competent, and authorized to use.
  • Report defects in equipment and ensure it is in a safe and secure state when unattended.
  • Report any industrial injury, industrial disease, or incidents that could result in personal injury or property damage.
  • Comply with risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Obey Company Health & Safety rules and set a personal example.

Key Skills, Knowledge, and Competencies:

  • Proven experience in Production Planning or Multi-level planning experience preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience working with KPIs and KPI reporting.
  • Excellent IT skills, proficient in MS Word, Excel, etc., with the ability to create plans, collect, and analyze figures for schedules and reports.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize a busy workload to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills, close attention to detail, and a methodical approach.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing/FMCG processes with the ability to identify opportunities and constraints and implement process improvements.
  • Good knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices is highly desirable.
  • Previous people management experience.
  • Previous SAP & MRP experience.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with limited supervision.
  • Proven analytic thinking, results orientation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills in handling multiple responsibilities simultaneously with high attention to details and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of contacts from corporate to manufacturing employees - both oral and written.
  • Drives a high-performing culture and Continuous Improvement.
  • Adapts a flexible approach.
