About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Communications Manager to join our team at Standard Bank Group. As a key member of our marketing team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies across multiple channels, both internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to deliver vision, values, and business performance messaging across all internal channels and manage engagement.
  • Develop and implement external communications plans to improve client engagement and client experience.
  • Work closely with HR to drive employee engagement, attract talent, and raise brand awareness through marketing initiatives.
  • Manage and moderate all communication channels, including sense-checking, measuring engagement, and revising content.
  • Collate content, organize, and drive monthly internal presentations with the CEO and senior leaders.
  • Manage crisis communication plans for the Standard Bank Group both externally and internally.
  • Manage ongoing campaigns and communications, including interim and year-end annual results and employee engagement surveys.
  • Support and deliver social impact campaigns, initiatives, and PR to enhance the Bank's reputation and visibility.
  • Drive and manage brand and naming convention changes, including updating collateral.
  • Measure and report results to benchmark learnings and implement successes.
  • Work with and manage third-party agencies to deliver internal and customer-focused assets.
  • Conduct market and competitor research to understand trends and customer preferences.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, copywriting, PR, or a similar field.
  • Experience in communications within the finance sector is preferred.
  • Strong stakeholder management capability and the confidence to navigate issues quickly and effectively.
  • Experience in copywriting or creating content to support a strategy or narrative, including strong storytelling skills.
  • Experience of working for global organizations.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience of working with external agencies.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Salesforce marketing cloud skills and experience.
