Residential Childcare Specialist

Join our team as a Care Assistant and help provide a safe and supportive environment for children and young people in need of specialized care.
We are looking for someone who can work in a team anywhere in the North East of England, with flexibility in travel and staying away from home. A flexible approach is adopted, with shifts following a 4 on, 4 off pattern, including 12 hour day and night shifts. Some shifts will be followed by a sleep in.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with other team members to ensure the best possible care for our young people.
- Develop and maintain relationships with our young people, their families, and other professionals.
- Assist with daily living tasks, such as meal preparation, household chores, and personal care.
- Contribute to creating a fun and active environment that promotes well-being and happiness.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- A Level 3 qualification in Child and Residential care (or a suitable alternative) is desirable but not essential. We will support you in obtaining this qualification if needed.
- An understanding of trauma and its effects on behavior is beneficial, although training will be provided.
- You must understand the importance of safeguarding in this role.
- A valid UK manual driving license and full right to work in the UK are required.
We offer a competitive package, including:

- Remuneration – a basic salary of £32,000, with uplifts for each shift worked with a young person and for sleeping nights.

- Support – dedicated wellbeing support, an internal Wellbeing Specialist, and free confidential counseling services.

We estimate the salary range to be around £30-40k per year, depending on experience and location. This role offers a chance to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children and young people.
