The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a supportive environment, providing Specialist Speech and Language Therapy assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to adults in Gloucestershire, focusing on hyper acute and acute stroke wards at Cheltenham General Hospital.
Main DutiesThe postholder will be responsible for managing and prioritizing their own clinical workload, supervising Speech and Language Therapy assistants or newly qualified SLTs, and working autonomously within Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust policies and professional practice. The successful candidate will also participate in service improvement projects as indicated.
Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will have a recognized Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists degree-level qualification, be a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT), and have a postgraduate dysphagia training/competencies. They will also have experience in managing patients with communication and swallowing difficulties as a result of acquired disorders, working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, and possessing excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
