Behaviour Support Worker (BSW) Job Description

As a Behaviour Support Worker (BSW), you will work closely with assigned pupils to help them manage their challenging behaviours. This role is designed to support pupils in learning and developing effective communication skills, while also promoting a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support and scaffold children in the classroom to promote learning and social skills.
  • Prepare resources with the teacher to ensure a smooth and engaging learning experience.
  • Work effectively in partnership with other professionals, parents, and carers to provide a comprehensive support system.
  • Adapt practice to meet the diverse needs of children, ensuring a tailored approach to support their individual requirements.
Requirements:
  • At least Level 2 training in a relevant field.
  • GCSE English and Maths grade C or above.
  • Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to process a new application.
  • Two professional child-related references.
