About the Role

We are seeking an experienced EPC Project Engineer to join our team at Climate 17, a global independent power producer specializing in renewable energy solutions. As a key member of our EPC team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of renewables projects across the UK, with a focus on large-scale solar projects in England.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Support: Assist subcontractors with technical queries, review test procedures, and ensure safe systems of work.
  • Design Review: Provide design reviews to ensure electrical compliance, produce maintainable sites, and avoid errors in the build process.
  • Risk Evaluation: Conduct risk evaluations as required for HSE and Quality departments.
  • Material Selection: Advise on material selection, provide cost/risk analysis to support a long-term, quality build approach.
  • Subcontractor Management: Participate in subcontractor selection, PQQ, and audits to support the EPC team.
  • Plan Preparation: Assist and support the EPC team in preparing suitable plans, drawings, and layouts.
  • Component Installation: Assess component installation to avoid costly errors.
  • Installation Quality: Provide recommendations and ways of working to standardize installation quality throughout the UK portfolio.
  • Grid Connection: Engage with grid connection network operators to discuss technical solutions for projects.
  • Technical Advisory: Provide technical advisory support in the construction and O&M handover phase of a project.
  • Documentation Transfer: Support the EPC team with documentation transfer to the EPC or O&M team during project closing.
Requirements
  • Project Costing Knowledge: Knowledge in project costing.
  • Engineering Degree: Engineer degree (in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering) or equivalent vocational qualifications in electrical engineering.
  • Data Analysis: Knowledge of data analysis tools and GIS (valued).
  • Data Interpretation: Data analysis and interpretation skills.
  • Renewable Energy Experience: Experience advising clients on technical aspects of solar projects; inspection and testing experience.
  • Renewable Energy Knowledge: Experience in renewables (photovoltaic – essential, battery, wind desirable).
  • Software Skills: MS Office, AutoCAD, and Electrical Engineering software aptitude.
