About the Job

We are seeking a qualified Chef to work as a Bank Second Chef at Barchester Healthcare. This role offers a good work-life balance with working days and alternate weekends. As a Bank Second Chef, you will manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, assist with menu development, work with fresh produce to deliver high-quality and wholesome dishes, help create a warm and welcoming environment, work within budget, complete regular audits, manage stock control, and assist in leading and motivating a team.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
  • Assisting with menu development.
  • Working with fresh produce to deliver high-quality and wholesome dishes.
  • Helping create a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Working within budget.
  • Completing regular audits.
  • Managing stock control.
  • Assisting in leading and motivating a team.
